ACS Nano

ACS Nano publishes comprehensive articles on synthesis, assembly, characterization, theory, and simulation of nanostructures (nanomaterials and assemblies, nanodevices, and self-assembled structures), nanobiotechnology, nanofabrication, methods and tools for nanoscience and nanotechnology, and self- and directed-assembly.

ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, with its focus on applications, complements the portfolio of existing ACS publications focusing on fundamental materials science discovery

Among the research areas of interest are solid-state chemistry, both inorganic and organic, and polymer chemistry, especially as directed to the development of materials with novel and/or useful optical, electrical, magnetic, catalytic, and mechanical properties, among others. Also of interest are fundamental issues relating to the fabrication and processing of electronic, magnetic, or optical materials and devices, including the generation of thin films by chemical vapor and solution deposition.

Nano Letters

A chief criterion to fit within the scope of Nano Letters is the convergence of at least two different areas or disciplines. Areas of interest to the journal include:

  • Experimental and theoretical results on physical, chemical, and biological phenomena at the nanoscale
  • Synthesis, characterization, and processing of organic, inorganic, polymer, and hybrid nanomaterials by physical, chemical, and biological methods
  • Modeling and simulation of synthetic, assembly, and interaction processes
  • Realization of integrated nanostructures and nano-engineered devices with advanced performance
  • Applications of nanoscale materials in living and environmental systems
ACS Energy Letters
report new scientific advances in all aspects of energy research that are of interest to scientists working in the fundamental, and applied sciences. A central criterion to acceptance is that the paper reports sufficiently urgent results such that rapid publication is essential. 

ACS Sensors
Articles may address conceptual advances in sensing that are applicable to many types of analytes or application papers which report on the use of an existing sensing concept in a new way or for a new analyte. Application papers should demonstrate the use of the sensor in complex samples, show it is fit-for-purpose, and exhibit a correlation of the sensor’s performance with an existing analytical method. Papers may focus on sensor development for commercialization or developing sensors that are used to provide new scientific knowledge.
